CLAPAS
Book Summary
Clapas is a fast-paced graphic thriller that grips the reader from the very first page. The story follows a young man who, on his way to reunite with his father in the Drôme countryside, becomes trapped with other travelers due to a landslide. The help of two mysterious armed men triggers an intense rural nightmare. With an oppressive atmosphere and an unrelenting narrative pace, this graphic novel combines suspense, rugged landscapes, and a psychological tension that makes every page an unforgettable experience.
What is it about?
A young driver is heading to the Drôme countryside to visit his father, whom he hasn't seen in years. A few kilometers from his destination, his car breaks down. A vacationer picks him up, but as they head onto a mountain road, a landslide traps them along with the passengers of a bus. Forced to continue on foot toward the nearest town, they are rescued by two silent, armed men who invite them to spend the night at their home. What seems like a gesture of hospitality becomes the start of a fast-paced thriller where the tension grows without respite. The ochre and rocky landscapes, the winding roads, and the landslides become metaphors for an implacable destiny. Clapas, which in Occitan means "a pile of stones," gives its name to those rocks that will change the fate of several people in an intense rural nightmare.
